Brigadier General Henry Storms served as a volunteer but due to his rank was entitled to wear the uniform of a brigadier general of the Regular Army. A single star on each epaulette strap denotes his rank, as do his coat buttons, arranged in groups of two. His white (buff) gloves and white (tipped with red) plumed hat.
